Thursday will be the last game of soccer season, and will also be the game that will determine whether the team earns the championship title or not. The game is going to be against Miguel Contreras who has already lost once to Hollywood during first round, with a score of 2-1.
The game is very anticipated by many players. “We have made it this far with a lot of commitment and teamwork,” said Ceirra Little, NMA junior. “We are just one game away from receiving the title we have been working for. We are a team and will play to the best to our abilities for ourselves and our school.”
The girls recently took on both of their two biggest rival schools. On Feb. 8, the girls played against Belmont High School. The girls won the game with a final score of 2-0. The Lady Sheiks redeemed themselves from the tied game they had in the first round on Jan. 21, with a score of 2-2.
On Feb. 4, the team played a home conference game against Bernstein and won with a final score of 3-0. This caused Hollywood’s girls soccer team to move up to first place in the central league standings.
Thursday’s game is very important because it is the game that will give the Hollywood the championship title, if the girls win. It is the last obstacle from reaching the team’s goal. This game is the last home game of the season.
