The Class of 2024 at Hollywood High School has a unique opportunity to apply for the ‘Achieve the Honorable’ scholarships, exclusively offered in-house.
The Achieve the Honorable Scholarship gives a variety of awards to seniors depending on their academic accomplishments, talents and their choice of career in the future.
The deadline to enter is Friday, May 3.
As these provide free financial support for students with good academics, seniors can apply for the following scholarships:
- Edie Snyder Scholarship
Awarded to a student who has school spirit and community involvement.
- Wayne Smith Scholarship
Given to a student intending to study English, communications and or/ journalism.
- P.W. Goering Scholarship
Given to the individual pursuing a career in the arts or psychology.
- F. Morales Scholarship
Awarded to a student pursuing a career in computer science.
- La Verne Fisher Scholarship
To an English emergent or former emergent student who best exemplifies the spirit of kindness to community,teaching and dedication to education
- Alice & Dick Rippey Scholarship
Creative and/or athletic student who have given service to Hollywood High School.
- Jerry Melton Scholarship
Given to two students to defray the expense in pursuing a career in performing arts.
- F. Robert Baker Scholarship
Given to a student planning to study engineering at a two-year or four-year college.
- Mardirossian Scholarship
Given to a former English emergent learner.
- Keith Kuhn Scholarship
Given to an outstanding English student.
Students with different abilities or after school related activities can apply for the following scholarships:
- Linda and Lisa Fane Scholarships for Technical Theater
Linda and Lisa Fane Scholarship for Technical theater students who meaningfully contributed the “behind the scenes” aspects of the performing arts at Hollywood High School and who would be interested in advancing their training with the possibility of pursuing production as a profession.
- The Writers Room Scholarship presented by Humanitas & co-sponsored by Eddie Gonzalez, co-creator of On My Block
The Writers Room Scholarship Presented by Humanitas is a scholarship of $1,000, awarded annually to a participant of The Writers Room Program OR a graduating senior with an interest in pursuing a screenwriting degree.
A second Writers Room Scholarship, sponsored by On My Block (Netflix) co-creator Eddie Gonzalez, will also be presented at a value of $500. This will go to a student who participated in The Writers Room that worked on “On My Block” (Netflix)
–Jack La Lane Scholarship sponsored by Paula & Paul Bragg
– For outstanding achievement in performing arts, athletics and/or related fields.
- Nikki Martin “68 Educational Assistance Fund:
Given to a deserving student in need of financial assistance to attend an institution of higher education.
- Alumni Association Scholarships
Given by the Hollywood High School Alumni Association to students who exhibit
- Academic achievement
- Artistic talent
- Athletic talent
