The new Spanish Resource Center was made to be part of the upcoming program, the Worlds Language Magnet School. The center was inaugurated on Dec 15, but will not be open to student use until March 2.
It will be used as a workshop for the AP Spanish Language and Literature classes, where they will be offered a variety of resources to help them further succeed in the courses. The resources not only include books but a video library and computers as well.
Ana Estangui, one of the teachers in the Spanish department, was the one who contacted the Consulate General of Spain and proposed that they establish a Spanish Resource Center at Hollywood High School. She was then put in contact with the education advisor, Josue Buosque, to begin planning for the useful center.
“The goal is to help students expand their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture,” said Estangui. The new Spanish Resource Center is providing all of the tools necessary for students to amplify their skills in the Spanish language, leading them to greater success in the class and their future.
