Checking in to “American Horror Story: Hotel”

The newest installment of the highly anticipated horror series, “American Horror Story: Hotel” has finally premiered on Oct.7.
This season centers in Hotel Cortez located in Downtown, Los Angeles with Lady Gaga as the eccentric Countess along with Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, and Denis O’Hare, playing the inhabitants of the haunted hotel.
So far, all those who have perished have two common things: an addiction to drugs and dying in room 64. The first deaths were two Swedish junkies who, after finding some kind of monster sewed into their mattress, are moved into room 64. As they are waiting for time to pass, they are killed by two mysterious children. Later they are seen resuscitated and being force-fed in order to taste right for the owner.
The most anticipated moment was perhaps the appearance of Lady Gaga. She plays the owner of the hotel, a charismatic socialite with an impeccable wardrobe and a larger than life personality. Alongside her lover, Matt Bomer, they lure in hotel guests to kill and devour in a manner resembling that of a vampire.
Some of the scenes were cringe-worthy, bloody, and just plain wrong, which is all that is needed to enthrall the viewers and truly capture the essence of Halloween.
