For the past months Donald Trump has been leading the GOP polls. His outrageous statements and elitist comments have the people talking, and recognition is crucial for candidates. However there is another crazed Republican hiking up the polls and his name is Ben Carson. According to a Quinnipiac University poll, Carson has surpassed Trump in Iowa, Carson now leads at 28 percent to Trump’s 19 percent.

Ben Carson is a retired neurosurgeon and a Republican to the core. He is pro-life, denies human activity being the cause for climate change, and wishes to abolish Medicare.

Going toe to toe with Trump means Carson must have made some pretty wild statements. Here is a list:

  • Stated homosexuality was a choice and prison turned people gay in a CNN interview
  • Said in a speech “Obamacare is really the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery”
  • According to CNN, Carson suggested “Nazi-like force could come to power in the United States”

At this point, it is who can say the wildest statements to get attention.
