Teens Take on Health

Members of the community are invited to attend the town hall meeting on May 20 to discuss today’s health challenges. The meeting will be held in room 101 on Wednesday, May 20th from 3:15 to 5:45 PM. This town hall meeting is to bring together members of the community, students, and parents to try to get a better understanding of some of the health challenges our community is facing.

It was created to make connections between some of the challenges that exist in their family or in their community  and positively handle some of those challenges to become an overall healthier individua.

“It will help give some of the hollywood students some insight into the challenges that they haven’t considered or thought about” said Randall Fenderson.

 Student may register to attend in Health Teacher Fenderson’ s class, room 222.

The meeting is being funded by LA Trust, an organization that funds the Wellness Center,  and it is sponsored by Molina Healthcare as well as being supported by Kaiser Permanente.

In search of a minimum of 50 student, it is a encouraged that students take this as an opportunity to get involved in a positive cause and learn more to take care of themselves and promote their own wellness.

“I think this a a great opportunity for people to learn, to discuss problems and issues and maybe come up with some solutions to deal with what’s going on” said Fenderson.

Once at the event there will be healthy snacks provided and a chance to win an IPad mini. Students are encouraged to show up , it is a great opportunity to get involved in a positive cause.
