Teams face off in post season events

This week two teams faced off at city prelims and league finals. These are post-season events to find out who is the best of the best. Even after the season has ended, Sheiks are still powering through and making names for themselves.
On Tues. May 12, swim faced off at city prelims which is an accomplishment in itself. The city prelims were held at East Los Angeles City College. The teams that made it were the 200 freestyle relay girls team and the 200 freestyle relay boys. The girls team included team captain Loreal Kaufman, Vanessa Centeno, Christy Echeverria, and Genesis Orozco. The boys team included team captain Casey Koiwai, Daniel Firescu, Daniel Olshansky, and Illia Bilenko. These teams are also making it to city finals to compete against the best teams in the city.
On Wed. May 13, track held league finals at home going against all of the schools in the league. Boys came fourth in the league for this race while girls came first. The girls track team walked onto the field already undefeated league champions and the boys came second in the league for the regular season, but dropped two places as they came in fourth for the final meet.
Boys Baseball are going to begin playoffs today against Woodrow Wilson High school. The game will be played at Hollywood, so get out there and support your Sheiks!
