With prom only a few days away, seniors have noticed that there are a few hours after prom where they can just “hang out”. Having this option opens new ideas to make your prom night one to remember . On the invitation that has been issued to all eligible 12th graders, it indicated that the prom will be held on May 15, from 7:00 -11:59 p.m. Although late, seniors can find safe and creative ways to end their night.
#1. Stop by a local diner…
After dancing your you know what off, a person can get quite thirsty and maybe even hungry. Going to a 24 hour diner is a safe and fun way of staying out of the streets and grabbing a few beverages with your buddies.
#2. Go to a movie theater near you…
If you are a moviegoer, movies are a great way to end the night. As prom ends you might catch the last screening of a new movie or a rescreening of a old one with all your friends. One really good upside is that since it’s a last screening, there might not be a full house. Plan ahead and order tickets online! http://www.fandango.com/
#3. A bonfire or a trip to the beach..
A good thing about LA is how close we live to the ocean. The beach, although cold, is an adventurous and peaceful way to have a good time. With a ride there and back, and responsible peers there is no doubt going to the beach is a good idea. What better way to connect with nature than with your significant other or with friends, as you cuddle up and tell scary stories under the moon light.
#4. Host a slumber party…
For many, after prom is a chance to go home, relax, unwind, watch some Netflix, and knock out, but you don’t have to do it alone! With parental consent, having a slumber party or “sleep over” can be a way to let prom night sink in and enjoy a few movies, junk food, and gossip among friends. Having friends over eliminates the struggle of finding out how to get home or “who gets dropped off by who”. It also works for seniors whose parents disagree with the idea of going out so late.
#5. Host an after party (Turn down for what ?) …
After parties are usually viewed as a wild and destructive thing, but they dont always have to be. Once prom ends, many students feel like they didn’t get enough excitement. the festivities do not have to end and keeping the party PG is not a problem. Bringing out some soda, candy and chips or ordering a pizza sounds like a good idea. Knowing the type of people you invite will make it easy to plan out a good time. If your invites are gamers, playing a few board games or bring out the xbox will do just fine. If your guests are performers do a bit of karaoke and have a good time.
