Unfriended, which releases today April 17, is a modern-day thriller film that features a group of friends on an online chat room (Skype)  where a supernatural force is found using the account of their dead friend Laura Barns (Heather Sossaman).

It is the anniversary since an embarrassing video was posted online and went viral which lead to Laura committing suicide. The movie is told entirely from Blaire Lily’s (Shelley Hennig) laptop where her boyfriend Mitch Roussel (Moses Jacob Storm) and their four friends ,Jess Felton (Renee Olstead), Ken Smith (Jacob Wysocki), Adam Sewell (Will Peltz), and Val Rommel (Courtney Halverson) are stalked by a random person after joining their Skype call. The friends are unable to get rid of this person who in the end turns out to be Laura’s account.

The friends believe that all of it is just a sick prank, but as soon as the “ghost” begins to reveal dark secrets about them, their old friend begins to go on a killing spree. Laura’s objective is to gain revenge on those who bullied her and find out who posted the video in the first place. The friends begin to turn against each other as they play Laura’s little game and one by one, Laura’s spirit possesses them to commit their own suicide.

In this new type of thriller movie the way to survive is to tell the truth. Lie and you die. Hang up and you die. Their only way out is through confession, but is that as easy as it sounds? Some find it scary, but you must watch at your own risk.
