The Cash for College, which took place in the Los Angeles Convention Center, was a success for students and parents to be informed about paying for college. On November 5 and 6, students and parents were directed to an orientation that described the financial process, including the Dream Act, FAFSA, and college workshops. College workshops help students write their personal statements and how to earn scholarships. The FAFSA and Dream Act are financial aid for low-income families and help them financially before college. About 30 different colleges from all over the the state attended the event. When it ended, they gave away ten one-thousand dollar scholarships.
