Dr. Bender is a TCA teacher who recently obtained her doctorate degree in educational leadership from Claremont Graduate University. She decided to get her doctorate degree because she loves to learn and to be challenged. Dr Bender became a teacher to help make the world a better place. She teaches world history and 9th grade world of education.
“I felt that being a teacher would give me tons of opportunities to change the world by working with young people.”
She believes that, “TCA has endless opportunities to teach our students that they can make a positive effect on the world by mentoring kids.” TCA not only helps the students who aspire of becoming a teacher, it helps them acquire communication skills. It was followed with, “communication is the most powerful currency we have.“
Bender teaches students that they can be powerful with their words and actions in her world of education class. She explained that her students learn communication skills by going to Selma Elementary to teach young students.
Bender empathizes with her students the importance of time management because she was also getting homework from Claremont. She dealt with balancing her career as a teacher, her studies, and her personal life to inspire her students to manage their time.
“I think that by being a positive role model I motivate my students to believe that they can push themselves to do better.”
