Katniss Everdeen is back and ready to rain hell upon the Capitol, or specifically President Snow in Mockingjay Pt. 1. The movie was released in theatres on Friday, Nov 21 and was one of the most anticipated movies of the year for many Hunger Games fans.
District 12 has been completely obliterated by the Capitol and has left only a few hundred survivors. Katniss is recovering from her latest trauma courtesy of the Quarter Quell and trying to keep herself from falling apart completely. District 13 who was supposedly destroyed in the first revolution has actually been alive and active the entire time. Peeta has been kidnapped and is being held hostage in the Capitol. Rebellions are spreading throughout Panem and nothing can stop the districts now. To make matters worse, Katniss is being pressured into becoming their Mockingjay, the face of the revolution. But Katniss has to decide whether fighting for justice will keep Peeta and her loved ones alive. And ultimately, her choice will change the future of the districts forever.
This movie contained less action scenes than the first two but there certainly was no lack of plot and information. It focuses more on the feelings and aftereffects of the Games on Katniss who is desperately trying to keep what is left of her sanity. I most definitely recommend this movie because of its suspenseful climax and intensity.
