Panic is a 408 page action book.In the small town of Carp where Heather and Dodge, the main characters , just graduated from high school. During their four years of high school, they paid a Panic tax, money that would go into a pot, which would be the grand prize for that year’s Panic winner. Everyone in the school has to put money in the pot or most people would do horrible things to whoever won’t participate in putting in the money.

Panic is a game that tests the competitors deepest, darkest fears telling them to do crazy things.Only the high school seniors can join and compete. This year’s prize is $67,000. There are secret “judges’ (former high school seniors ) who practically choose what dangerous challenges the seniors have to do.

Heather never wanted to compete in Panic, but when her boyfriend breaks up with her and her mom gets worst into a drug addiction, leaving Heather responsible for her little sister. Participating in Panic is the only way she can help take care of her little sister , and so she can leave her home town.

Dodge says he’s only competing for the money, but he really is competing because he wants revenge or at least to get even with the people that his damaged passed . Dodge and Heather become allies yet enemies in the “game” that threatens their sanity, their relationships and, most importantly, their lives.

Even though in this game the “judges” don’t make the players kill each other , they still do. Everyone is in it to win for their own little secret reason and most will stop at nothing until they succeed or die .
