Honors Bio, AP Bio, and some Chemistry students will be attending a field trip paid by UCLA, which will be led by Lois Murphy and Paytsar Sasunyan this Saturday, May 3rd. This field trip hosted by UCLA and City Lab Programming will consist of 40 plus students taking part in a blood typing lab. Students will be using tools and labs to determine the blood type of the samples which will be provided by UCLA and City Lab Programming.
The planning for the field trip was troubling since they needed at least 35 students to sign up or it wasn’t going to happen, but despite the trouble the teachers still managed to recruit 40-50 students.
When asked what type of students they were aiming for Ms.Murphy said “anybody who’s interested in science.” The students will meet on campus at 8:00 a.m. to get on the school buses and are due back by 3:00 p.m. Lunch will also be provided by UCLA in the form of Subway sandwiches.
The field trip is bound to be fun for students and educational, Murphy hopes that students will receive “A good lab experience” from this.
