Rashan Briggs is known around campus for his cheery attitude and involvement within Hollywood High.
Briggs is a special education teacher in the Performing Arts Magnet. He attended Morehouse College and received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from New Jersey City University.
Not only is he a teacher, but he’s also the Black Student Union sponsor, The HHS Photography sponsor, the girls/boys track coach, the assistant football coach, and the JV boys soccer coach.
“Being here for nine years has made me feel like I’ve attended Hollywood High School,” said Briggs.
Meeting new students is his favorite part of the school, and he enjoys the culture here. He enjoys building relationships with his students where they can communicate about games and issues going on.
“Briggs has always motivated me to try my best and perform well during my soccer games,” said Kevin Hernandez, a junior on the soccer team.
Many of Briggs’s current hobbies stem from his high school interests. He participated in two different sports, and multiple clubs, and served as president of his senior class. He played football for four years, leading the team as captain, and he also spent a year doing track.
Currently, his favorite hobby is photography. He loves taking pictures and capturing moments.
“If I wasn’t a teacher, I would be a photographer traveling around the world,” said Briggs.
If he could have any superpower it would be the ability to fly. He would love to take pictures from above, do back-and-forth trips throughout the world, and then return to school.
