Paris Rhene, a junior at PAM, isn’t merely navigating her junior year; she’s achieving remarkable milestones in dance along the way.
Paris is known among the student body for myriad reasons. She is recognized for her dance performances, as she is the president of the Dance Club and captain of the Dance Guard Team. Additionally, she was voted as the Homecoming Princess of her grade level last fall.
“She’s a very talented dancer; she’s a quick study and is a role model for her peers,” said Jaylene Pitones, the dance guard coach. “She goes full out in everything she does and represents herself as a leader.”
Beyond dancing at school, she has danced at many famous studios including The Playground LA, UCLA, Mihran K Studios, and Millennium Dance Complex.
“I plan to continue my journey as a dancer and start my career modeling,” said Paris Rhene.
Academically, Paris has been challenging herself by taking multiple Advanced Placement Classes. She is also dedicated to the Black Student Union Club, where she serves as its social media manager.
“It’s hard being President of the Dance Club and social media coordinator for BSU, but I balance it out because schoolwork comes first,” said Paris. “I make sure all my non-academic work is taken care of so when I get home I can focus and do my homework.
The dancer was born in Portland, Oregon, but she decided to transfer to Hollywood High to further her dance career and broaden her academic horizon. When she saw the school online, she automatically knew she belonged in Hollywood.
“Since Hollywood High is in the heart of LA, I thought this would be an amazing opportunity for my future career,” said Paris.
Among her peers, Paris has a reputation for her courage and confidence. She is described as an outgoing, bubbly personality.
“Paris is such an amazing captain and person overall; she always motivates others to do better for themselves, and she always applies the pressure when it’s needed,” said junior Keyon Holland.
The dancer hopes to further her career and passion for the art while maintaining good academic standing throughout her junior year.
