With only an application and a one-page essay, seniors have the opportunity to apply for multiple scholarships and possibly be awarded at the Achieve the Honorable Awards Ceremony that will take place in the school auditorium, on June 2 at 6 p.m.

Students can apply to multiple scholarships worth thousands of dollars from the 14 available. Then they can fill out the application on the Google Form and write a one-page essay on why they’re a good candidate for a scholarship, how they plan to live “Sheik Pride” and bring the motto of Achieving the Honorable to the community as an alumni, and tell them about themselves.

“Hollywood High School has a long tradition of supporting our students in achieving their college and career dreams, said Heather Brown, the NMA counselor/college counselor in an email. “We have a wide variety of endowments and scholarship funds available to award students.”

There is the Alice and Dick Rippey Memorial Scholarship, the Marina Saheghian Memorial Scholarship, the Aldonia LaVerne Fisher Memorial Scholarship, the Jerry D Melton Dramatic Performance Scholarship, the Lina and Lisa Fane Scholarship, the Nikki Martin “68 Educational Assistance Fund, the Perry Goering Scholarship, The Real Don Steele Scholarship, The Mardi Mardirossian Scholarship, the Frederick Robert Baker Memorial Scholarship, Jack and Janet LaLane Scholarship, the Keith Kuhn Memorial Scholarship, Jack White Memorial Scholarship, and The Hollywood High School Alumni Scholarship. Alongside these scholarships, the winners of the Muriel Pollia scholarship will also be announced at the ceremony.

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26.
