A night to remember at Casa Vertigo

Seniors returned from prom at Casa Vertigo on May 6 with loads of stories, fun, and an overall good time. Yet, it came with controversy and gossip that surely won’t leave any time soon.

Many people felt as if prom was underwhelming due to the music choices provided by the DJ. “He sucked really bad, he played bad music, he cut off the beat drops and put air horns when someone got proposed to,” said Devyn Frazeur, an SAS senior.

There was a rather heartwarming occurrence as people were drawn to the front of the dance floor to watch an engagement proposal as Manuel Martinez got on one knee and made the proposal to his girlfriend for everyone to see. Cheers were heard moments after she said yes.

Prom court was elected midway through the event, candidates waited anxiously to see if they had won. Cifrille Ramos was elected Princess, Victor Solis won Prince. Prom King & Queen were Brianna Barrios and Brian Beltran.

Other activities included a photo booth with a full sized printer and a catering service to provide sustenance for attendees during the five hour event.

“It was fun. I liked the venue. The food was good. I loved how they had a photo booth but the DJ sucked,” said Ara Chimil, SAS senior.

Overall, senior prom is always something to enjoy and have fun after a long four years at Hollywood High.
