Powderpuff 2016 has been canceled. There have been rumors all week about the situation. Unfortunately, the rumors are true.
Powderpuff 2016 has been canceled this year due to an unknown incident. Apparently, there was an issue among a group of students that cause administration to cancel the whole event 4 days before the event.
Many people are upset about this, especially the seniors. They believe it is unfair that they had to pay the consequences for the behavior of other individuals.
SAS Senior, Emily Arreola, said, “It obviously sucks that powderpuff was canceled because I put so much of my time and effort into practice and paying the $55 fee. I was looking forward to it the most because I couldn’t play last year. I’m really disappointed.”
The juniors were very upset as well. NMA Junior Samantha Henriquez said, “I’ve been looking forward to this game since freshman year. This really sucks.”
The cancellation caught everyone by surprise, even the Leadership class. The situation happened too quickly and a compromise between the Leadership class and administration was not able to be met.
Money went to waste. People’s time went to waste. And people expectation were not met on any circumstances. Whatever the situation was that canceled this year’s well-expected powderpuff game, must of been tough.
The juniors next year have a new opportunity to play.
