Is Harriet Tubman officially going to become the face of the 20 dollar bill? We may be getting the change we’ve all been looking for, the first woman in the United States of America to ever be the face of a bill. So why remove Jackson? In his time, Jackson was a very disputable leader in the history of America, he was viewed as the hero of war and a “political outsider” of today. For those who searched for Jackson to be removed because of his currency position of slavery and “Trail of Tears”. Through months and months of debates, it has been integrated to have a woman’s portrait on the $20 bill. Tubman was an escaped slave and changed lives of many black people by leading them to the “Underground Railroad”. After the slaves were free, Tubman was a loyal supporter of woman’s right to vote. Government believes that having inspiring woman who changed America, such as Harriet Tubman on bills will be an amazing way to show that women can change the world. Treasury Secratary ” Jack Lew” has also thought of the idea to modernize the 5 and 10 dollar bills. So, all three orders may be the face of a female’s presence.
