On Friday a group of Le Conte students toured the campus. The eighth graders were split into five groups with each being led by a SAS junior or senior.
According to college counselor and head of the Le Conte tour Heather Brown each tour group visited the main features of our school like the library and college center. “I felt as if I was reliving freshman year,” said SAS senior and tour guide Maria Contreras.
The aspiring Hollywood students also visited classrooms where they had an in class orientation.
History teacher Neil Fitzpatrick enjoyed entertaining the touring students and giving them a sneak peek of what to expect when they make that transition to high school. “I really loved meeting the 8th graders and their teachers,” he said. “It was great seeing my students leading the tour as well.”
“I thought it was really cool for the middle school students to see how high school classes work, especially AP’s and honors,” said PAM junior Cameron Haywood. “I wish I had some insight on the next four years of my life.”
They ended their day in the cafeteria playing fun games and munching on sandwiches. “It was very entertaining to give them tours even though I lost to an 8th grader,” said SAS senior and tour guide Oscar Aguila.
