Saturday, April 9th, at 9:00-12:30 in the morning at Hollywood High School an AP practice test for both English Language and Literature will be held for students who are looking to better themselves and achieve a score of 3 or more on their AP test on May 11. James Carmicle, AP English Language teacher, and Laurie Tobenkin, AP English Literature teacher, both are going the extra mile to help their students excel on the day of the exam. On the day of April 9, the full test was handed out and we were to try and do our absolute best.

To those of you who did not attend, this examination was a complete success. With the classroom being full of students both in Carmicle’s and Tobenkin’s classroom, students were on full focus throughout the whole time. Personally I was shocked by the experience of how much one could take out of the practice exam such as ways to better prepare yourself, work on weaknesses, and know how yourself as an individual works under the pressure of time.

This was the first time the AP workshop was brought into play here at Hollywood, not only to help the school but most importantly to benefit the students at the school. Not only was this a great idea, but by May we will see the major results of pass rates go above and beyond because of this workshop.

We’d love to give thanks for coming in and doing the extra work, to help your students and to show us how passionate you all are in helping students learn and grow.
Again a huge Thank you to the all teachers and administrators who have in anyway pitched in to make this all possible, as well as to help the students be able to ‘Achieve the Honorable’.
