America prepares for elections

Every citizens including student of the United States has been eagerly counting days for this political concern of the year- the general elections of 2015 that will be held on Nov. 3.

This off-year election will be held for the purpose of filling vacancies in the House of Representatives; particularly in replacement of three representatives of the Congressional District that either resigned or faced health problems.

The three states that are holding the Gubernatorial elections and Statewide executive offices are Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi; the number of states shows a conspicuously exponential decrease of states compared to 36 states that held elections from 2014 elections. However, the four states that are holding the State legislatures are the eastern states of: Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia.

“I think the November elections are a great opportunity to let people decide the right incumbent that will lead their state properly,” said SAS senior Dahoon Song, “ The 2015’s off-year elections definitely impact the 2016 presidential election.”

According to MyTimeToVote.com, this election will also be municipal, schoolboard, gubernatorial, and state legislative in a few states; as well as numerous citizen initiatives, and a variety of other local offices on the ballot.

Although, most students are not eligible to vote yet, their political convictions and aspects are on fire, showing their zeal for the nation. Students can keep track of the polls through the bbc/news.com on Election 2015:Poll tracker.
